Touchline — Live Match Tracking

Touchline is GoldenBoot's built-in live match tracking mode. Use it on the sideline during matches to track playing time, substitutions, game events, and statistics in real-time.

Overview

Touchline is designed to be used on the sideline during matches. It uses your existing GoldenBoot roster and opponent data — no setup or syncing needed. Touchline requires a Premium subscription.

Key Features:

  • Live game clock and period tracking
  • One-tap substitution management
  • Real-time player and goalkeeper statistics
  • TV-style score ticker with goal scorers and active cards
  • Game event logging (water breaks, referee calls, camera reviews, and more)
  • Match notes — jot down observations during play
  • Bench cards and opponent stat tracking
  • Game log with timestamped events
  • PDF match reports with optional game log
  • Saved matches appear automatically in your match history

Works on both iPhone and iPad in portrait or landscape orientation.

Getting Started

Log custom events during the match — anything that doesn't fit standard stats:

  • Tap Game Event in the HUD
  • Choose from your configured event list (e.g., “Water Break”, “Review Camera”, “Referee Discussion”)
  • The event is logged with the current match time
  • Events appear in the Game Log and are included in PDF match reports

Customizing Events:

Match Notes

Add free-form notes during the match:

  • Tap Notes in the HUD
  • Type observations, tactical notes, or reminders
  • Notes save automatically — no save button needed
  • Notes are stored with the match and visible in Match Detail after saving

Score Ticker

The score ticker at the top of the screen shows a live summary:

  • Goal scorers with minute markers (e.g., “Smith 23', Jones 67'”)
  • Opponent goal minutes
  • Active yellow and red cards

Game Log

The game log records every significant match event in chronological order:

  • Goals (with player name and minute)
  • Yellow and red cards
  • Substitutions (player in / player out)
  • Period changes (1st Half, Halftime, 2nd Half, etc.)
  • Custom game events
  • Match notes

View the log anytime by tapping Game Log in the HUD. The log is included in PDF match reports when the “Include Game Log” option is enabled.
